In 7 days the highly anticipated "SON of GOD" movie will be released all across America, and we hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to invite unbelievers, share your faith in Jesus Christ, and watch what the Lord will do.
Though there are some occasional inaccuracies in dramatic portrayals of the life of Christ, this movie (and the 10 part mini-series "The BIBLE" that preceded it) are outstanding renditions of the drama, passion, and beauty of the "Greatest Story Ever Told" - the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Christ.
Philosophically, the american culture at large has become POSTMODERN in their worldview, and as such, movies and the arts are one of the most effective ways to reach into the POSTMODERN culture and grip their hearts. Why?? Because the philosophy of POSTMODERNISM preaches that there is no truth at all, just narratives and stories about life. It says there is no "Meta-narrative" that stands above the others in authority, just a collage of various narratives concerning existence and life.
Since there is no Truth (is that true?), the POSTMODERNIST is only open to passion and subjective emotion to decide questions of existence. This is where a dramatic portrayal of Christ, such as "SON of GOD", can effectively be used to impact their imagination and emotions.
We suggest that you not only go see this movie when it's released in the US on February 28, but also that you buy at least ONE EXTRA TICKET and invite and unbelieving friend to the movie, so that they can be exposed to Christ in this dramatic artistic portrayal. Take them out for coffee afterwards, share the Gospel with them (the Christ is GOD, died for our sins, and rose for our sins), and see how the Lord may use you!
Use this opportunity to reach your friends for Jesus, get your whole church group involved - "Carpe Diem" for Christ!!
